Gardening smart, not hard.
How? The idea is to focus on the gardening tasks that matter to you, then spending your time and money there.
You can do a lot, or a little. But whatever you do, make it count. Here's a guide to help you do just that.
This site is organized by Monthly Tips, each with categories on annuals, perennials, bulbs, lawn care, trees and shrubs, pests and diseases, pruning, watering, and much more.
All the tips have been compiled by a certified master gardener, who turned a notebook of reminders, to-do lists and lessons-learned into this free informational site.
The basic timing for all the tips in the site is for growing zones in the central U.S., but all the information can be used in your zone. Simply adjust for your conditions.
You'll find those easily from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture at the Reference page or in the Smart Gardening Resources table of links below. There's also a wealth of planting information at these links, plus a quick way to check your local weather forecast.
Plus, there are individual sections on topics: Annuals, Perennials, Bulbs and Lawn Care, Starting Seeds, constructing an Indoor Greenhouse, Forcing Bulbs Indoors, Garden Planning, plus References for all kinds of planting information.
Here are links to the various tips pages on this site.
